PROPERLY PREPARE YOUR SONG FOR UPLOADING

1. RIGHTS
Make sure you are the creator and owner of the music. Please do not post copywritten songs or looped portions of copywritten songs.

2. LYRICS
Please remove vocal tracks from your song. As good as you may be, no one wants to play a lead instrument on top of a vocal.

3.KEY MODULATION
Make sure your song does not modulate to a different key. Otherwise, people may not know how to re-tune properly when your song changes key.

4. LOOP YOUR SONG
When you play a song in RIFF it will continuously loop so that people can RIFF forever to your tune. Making sure there is no "air" at the beginning or ending of your tune will ensure great loops that don't have any skips in it. To verify that your song sounds good as a loop, first audition it by opening your song in iTunes. From the "Controls" menu, select "Repeat/ One" and play it.

5. ADD KEY NAME
Add the key of your song to the end of your song name. This is very important to ensure that RIFF can read your song key and adjust itself to play in the correct key. At the end of your song name, simply add a space, the key (capitalized) and a minus or plus (to indicate if your song is in a minor key or major key ).

EXAMPLE: If your song is in A# minor, your song name would look like this:

My Awesome Song A#-

6. MP3 REQUIREMENTS
Save your MP3 at a bitrate of 256 kbps or above.

7. ITUNES INFO
Import your mp3 into iTunes. Select "Get Info" from the "File" menu. Select the "Info" tab and complete all the relevent fields. Then add your album artwork by clicking the artwork tab. Click "Ok" when you're done.

8. UPLOAD
In iTunes, right-click on your song in the iTunes song list. Choose "Show in Windows Explorer" (PC) or "Show in Finder" (Mac). This will show you where the mp3 you just modified in iTunes is located. Take note. You will need to find this when you upload your song to our server.
